Newcastle United's gain is once again Coventry City's loss

MAY I start by saying I wish Gael Bigirimana all the best on his move to Newcastle United.
When a club that size come knocking on an Eighteen Year old's door it's no wonder he was swayed in signing for them.

And it's been reported that the fee is half a million rising to a Million which I guess relates to games played in the future.

Everyone here at Coventry are fond of Bigi the lad from Burundi who sparkled not just on the pitch but off it too with his easy going and likeable character and who wouldn't wish him well ?

But looking at this as a Coventry City supporter it has shown once again that as a football club we just can't keep hold of anyone of any age who has even just a touch of quality about them can we ?

Okay we are now a League One Club so it shouldn't surprise us when players leave but they tend to leave us quicker than a rat up a drainpipe whenever a bigger club comes calling.

In fact what a great reason now for any half decent player wanting to move on as they can say that playing Third tier football won't help them in this stage of their career.

But when is this ever going to stop at Coventry City Football Club ? As season after season and year after year we see player upon player moving on it's never ending it's a revolving production line.

We all are well aware that Football is a business but I wonder how Andy Thorn must be feeling when he was almost pleading with young Bigi to stay here and learn his trade with this club but obviously that fell on deaf ears.

But as I wrote earlier on Bigi is a smashing young man but at the end of the day yet again us Sky Blue fans get to see a player who would have been a great asset to the team walking out the door and as usual there's nothing we can do about it.
