Is a new era about to begin for Coventry City Football Club ?
THE European Championship was a good tournament and I really enjoyed watching all the games even though England once again failed miserably in the penalty shoot out with Italy.
But you have to say they got to the quarter Finals and seeing Roy Hodgson has only been in charge a short while that was no mean feat. But all that Football has whetted my appetite now for our own season to begin and even though I've only just gotten over the City's drop down to League One,I am looking forward to the new campaign.
I never thought I'd be saying that but that's football for you it is an addiction and in your blood and once your hooked that's it I'm afraid your in it for life.
Even though I still maintain most of our better players will go as fans we just have to accept that will happen even though it gets you down and you often feel what's the point ?
Crainie is off and it looks like Keogh too which is a blow but inevitable as both of them are both Championship players at least, showing once again how devastating getting relegated was.
But as Andy Thorn's mantra is always we are where we are which means at the end of the day this is Coventry City Football Club so we have to just get on with it come what may.
When we go to our first match in League One i bet we won't hardly recognise most of the team on show and we'll be going who's he ?And I like the look of that new defender where did we get him from ?
In other words it'll be a new start for not just new players but for us fans as well,it will feel a bit strange I reckon as we have to get used to clubs playing us who see us as a big club with a big modern stadium.
I've watched Coventry City play in the Third Division before but then we were not seen as a big fish but a club on the up under Jimmy Hill and the rest as they say is history.
So not too long to wait till the new campaign kicks off again with a new kit and a set of new players also that sounds to me like a whole new era is about to commence which I guess is probably the best way to look at things ?
