Coventry City will do well to keep hold of players
AS Coventry City supporters we know only too well our current situation or most of it as we are usually kept in the dark with the goings on behind the scenes.
But what we are privy too is that we have little or no money in the coffers and we have a transfer embargo on us as well,so in other words if offers come in for any of our players the club has to consider them .
So nothing new there then as history has shown whenever a club makes a bid for a Coventry City player the chances are he will be off sooner or later.
I reckon by the time we kick off our season in League One we would have lost all our so called better players and we won't recognise the squad from the end of the last campaign.
Clubs are sniffing about already I bet and it will take something of a miracle to keep hold of the likes of Keogh,Cranie,Norwood, and young Bigi too.
These few are at least Championship players and even though he's a Cov kid and Sky Blues fan you can add Macca to the list because even though he can irritate with his poor performances he is above Third tier football.
I hope they shock me and decide to stay but I can't honestly see them here next season, that word loyalty isn't heard much these days is it in fact that went out years ago along with laced up footballs and wing half's !
Can you picture a footballers agent talking about loyalty and devotion ?
No, it's more about cash and signing on fees so any City fan expecting a current player deciding to stay when a club from a higher division comes calling may get a rude awakening I'm afraid.
Us football fans who not only follow the Sky Blues but England too want the Three Lions to win the European Championship but deep down we know it ain't going to happen, but that doesn't stop us from dreaming for the impossible.
And it's the same as supporting Coventry City we want this and that to happen and we want this player to stay and this player to sign but in the end we get kicked in the nether regions time after time don't we ?
