Only Coventry City would sell there leading scorer
ONCE again Coventry City have shown what we have all known for many years that they are a selling club of the highest order and they have sent out a clear message to other clubs that if you fancy one of our players just be patient and you will get him.
We all knew Jukebox would leave but that doesn't make it any sweeter though as when your bottom of the division and fighting for survival you do everything in your power to hold on to players not get rid of them.
Andy Thorn is doing his best to keep us all positive by saying he's got replacements ready but he's becoming like a stand up comedian and not the strong leader he tries so hard to be.
I was thinking about all the quality players who have moved on in the past couple of seasons,Dann,Fox,King,Ward,Henderson,Westwood,Gunnarrson,Turner,and now our leading goalscorer.
I recall Ray Ranson saying that Coventry will no longer be a selling club well that turned out to be a statement a politician would be proud of wouldn't it ?
The club may just as well put all our players up on ebay because us fans know that any player with promise will leave eventually and scouts must turn up at the Ricoh more times than some of our fans do.
We just have to face the real harsh reality of football that we will never be able to retain our better players and as Andy likes to say we just have to make do with what we've got.
Let's hope that the young striker settles quickly and as usual we will get behind him and encourage him but what other club would sell there top goalscorer in the midst of a relegation scrap and replace him with a young lad still learning ?
As is often said in newspapers : " You just couldn't make it up."
