Coventry City's Ups and Downs
It has been a bit of a mixed bag of news recently for the City. Two much needed league wins followed by a battling defeat and a poor defeat at home to Southampton.
The off the field stories continue to make the headlines though with the protest making the main headline. It's interesting that the boss, Tim Fisher has stated that he will speak to the protestors across the next few weeks.
He would be better writing an open letter on behalf of SISU to ALL the fans to explain what is going on, what is the business plan and why they are creating new companies that are associated with the football club?.
I said it before but to me SISU's current business plan was to reduce the clubs loses on a month to month basis. This accounts for the reduction in squad size and the sale of Turner. This means the only way that the club can afford any new signings is by trading players.
Elsewhere Eastwood has been offered an olive branch by Thorn. Lets face it when he is fit he would be an ideal partner for Jukebox. But that is if he is fit and motivated, two things he seems to struggle with.
With his contract due to expire in the summer, the only way another club will offer him a deal is if he is playing regularly and scoring goals. He can't live off his reputation earned at Southend forever.
James McPake is not happy at being left out of a leaky defence. This is understandable of a professional player and given the fact that we have a habit of considering poor goals.
I like a lot of other fans like McPake as he is a solid safety first type of defender. My only issue is that with such a small squad he is far too injury prone. In nine seasons as a professional he has only once played more that 22 games in a season.
So with 3 weeks left of the transfer window rumours of loans, players leaving or coming in, protest and takeovers there is plenty of stuff for the fans to discuss even if the vast majority of it is bad news!
