Coventry City should look to Olofinjana

seyi-olofinjana.jpgIf Andy Thorn is allowed only one loan signing, then I think he should have a look at someone like Seyi Olofinjana.

The Nigerian-born midfield hard-man spent last season on loan with Cardiff and was one of the standout players when Cardiff came to the Ricoh (and beat us 2-1).

Now back with Hull City, Olofinjana hasn't had a look-in this season, but he could be just what the Sky Blues need.

As I wrote last week, playing someone like Olofinjana in the holding role of Andy Thorn's diamond midfield would free up Sammy Clingan to play a more advanced role where his abilities might be put to better use.

Olofinjana is exactly the kind of midfield destroyer we need: someone mean and nasty who will get in the faces of the opposition and break up their play. This would allow Clingan to play further up the field where his passing and creativity could be a more dangerous weapon.

But there are two sticking points: Olofinjana will still be on Premier League wages, so unless Hull cancel his contract and City snap him up on a free transfer (on reduced terms), it's unlikely we could afford him.

The other thing to consider is Nigel Pearson's apparent imminent exit from Hull, which would put all their transfer activity on hold for the time being.

Whether or not a deal for Olofinjana could be done, he is the sought of player Andy Thorn should be considering.

I think you need to do a little more research.

He's only not played because he's injured, he's about as hard as my gran and he's on £28k a week.

We could do you a good deal on the midfield enforced that is James Harper instead, he's great at pointing and any offer over £5 is likely to be accepted.
