Time for Coventry City fans to turn the page
AS an extremely tumultuous chapter in the Coventry City story drew to a close last night, it's fair to say that things aren't half as bad as they could have been.
Thanks to a combination of Blackburn's lavish spending and Cardiff's pursuit of Ben Turner, we were able to hold on to both our club captain and our only goal scorer this season.
Add to that the fact that we were able to recruit an outfield player, and low and behold, it feels like Christmas has come early.
Granted, we had to wave off one of our best centre-halves, but he (arguably) went for a reasonable price.
On top of that, Turner has been out for the best part of nine months with a serious injury, so there's no guaranteeing that he would have rediscovered the form that cemented his place in the team last season.
Our deadline day acquisition of Cody McDonald finally banishes the ridiculous rumours suggesting that the club is still suffering at the hands of a transfer embargo, as well as proving that SISU are in fact willing to pump money into the squad, albeit a fairly modest sum.
Onye Igwe's open letter to the Sky Blue Army made for very interesting reading this morning.
However unpopular it will make me, I must declare that I have always been somewhat of an admirer of Igwe in the sense that his correspondence with the fans through his representation of SISU always comes across as honest and astute.
It's clear that he's an easy target at which fans can outlay their anger, however his correspondence today- combined with the "success" of yesterday- has the potential to perhaps win over some of the fans who were far from pleased with the goings on at Coventry City.
I urge all fans to read Igwe's letter with an open mind, and avoid immediately shrouding it with the sense of distrust that seems to accompany any directive from the SISU press machine.
It's all well and good for SISU to promise improvements in the way they run the club, however unless we can really see efforts being made to put these promises into action you can guarantee that the ever-present sense of discontentment will grow further.
So, as we begin what I'm sure will be a chapter equally as eventful as the last, perhaps we should do so with a fledgling sense of support for those that run our club. Until, that is, they do something to upset us.
Never mess with the Sky Blue Army.

well lets hope SISU can deliver on their promises, we have heard it all before, however lets give them a chance and really get behind the team and Andy Thorn.
Lets face it we are in for a bumpy ride, but who said being a Skyblue fan was easy. Just Keep the Faith!
