How we can end this wretched run at Coventry City

WE are on a wretched run at present, with the seemingly "well drilled" defence now looking "well short" in terms of class, goals are being shipped far too easily and our midfield is looking second rate: Carsley looks leaden footed, Macca looks ill at ease and Doyle is Doyle, a trier, but lacking class. I can't see why he won't try Gunnar in the middle, he at least makes thing happen.

Up front we are not scoring and Platt is just not good enough for this league, he should be used as an impact sub, not as our first choice striker.

The bench is looking pretty threadbare now too, with youth team players seemingly on AB's radar, before the players who might make a difference are given a run. Nothing wrong with that in principal, but we need to be able to alter the shape of games when we are getting beaten, not just more of the same.

It seems at odds with everything sensible, to drop Jukebox against Barnsley, in favour of Platt.

The lack of pace is glaringly obvious for all to see, so let's hope he addresses this area in January, though where the money is coming from will be interesting.

We desperately need a left back, to allow Wood to play as a centre half, a couple of wingers with pace and a playmaker in centre mid, plus a big target man who can score goals if the manager insists on his current tactics, none of which will come cheap, let's hope and pray that Kevin Kyle isn't offered out on loan.

Play-offs here we come.

as a lifelong skyblues fan i like all others was waiting for the inevitable mid-season collapse. so here we are again with a squad of under achievers and a manager who thinks sunday league tactics will get them to the play-offs. this team still needs an injection of at least 3 new names including a striker who has some confidence in front of goal and a mid-field captain who can hold the ball and occasionally pass instead of hopeful hoofs upfield. the skyblues are looking poor and it could be a long season folks!

shouldnt be shocked or flabbergasted but gutted at the lack of points over christmas period. where has the fight gone the attitude and bite that we had not so long ago. i thought boothroyd had brought in a bit of mental toughness. has he bigged up too many of our players. mcsheff first name on team sheet why? young keough premiership class? back to lumping it up the field kick and rush. whats happened to carl baker been on the bench for ages so must be considered fit. couldnt believe boothroyd didnt change it yesterday. season ticket holder
