The Sign of A Good Manager

There have been many opinions about the style of football on offer this season, but one thing is certain, the sign of a good manager is when you can play poorly and still get a result.

One thing is not in doubt, AB has got the Sky Blues well organised, the back four (who-ever plays) look solid and well drilled, with Westwood offering all the security behind them of the seasoned pro he has become.

The midfield has a reasonable balance (pace aside) with both Piano "Players" & "Shifters" complementing one another.

Up front, there is now real competition for places, with the skill and touch of Eastwood & King allied to the power and work rate of Platt and Jukebox, add a scoring touch into that mix and we are not far off from a decent outfit, well equipped to compete with most teams in this league.

There are a couple of obvious shortcomings, with a lack of pace my biggest worry, plus a left back of quality to provide a bit of balance, but we are grinding out results, sneaking the odd goal and giving nothing away, a decent recipe for continued success in my book.

Add to that, the ability to win ugly and get results without being at your best and we may have something to look forward to, come the end of the season?

How nice to hear that teams no longer look forward to a trip to the Ricoh or a game against Coventry City at all, long may it continue................
