Coventry City need to up thier game for the challenges ahead

SITTING in a freezing Ricoh wondering if I could feel my feet I couldnt help thinking was it worth the fight to get Saturday's game on

As we ended up losing the game you hankered after a midweek date in March. But off course we were out to keep up a winning momentum at home

We all know the last two home performances we're poor and only our fighting spirit secured wins in both of them. Despite another great show of fighting spirit this time it wasn't enough

It doesn't help if you're playing with ten men for an hour. But even before the sending off we created very little in the opposition half

Norwich started much better than us and in the first half we're contained by a solid City defence. In the second half we were overrun

Again I believe our attack was unbalanced and created little threat. McSheffrey didn't get into the box this time and wasn't an attacking threat.

Clive Platt won relatively little in the air and seems to have little understanding with Marlon King. King's goal really showed his quality and we must develop a decent forward partnership to get the best out of him

As Eastwood appears to be out of favour maybe Jutkeiwicz is worth a try.

Midfield missed Carsley. It was unfortunate that the sending off put pressure on Doyle to perform against his strengths

As combative a midfielder that he is accurate passing isn't a strength.

This week revealed that Chris Coleman is still on the clubs payroll. Thankfully he's no longer the manager

If he was he would have doubtless blamed the official for the defeat. Aidy to his credit has largely refused to do so

In the next two games much better performances will be needed to get any sort of result against Cardiff and QPR.

Aidy clearly realises this and will be working on securing them. We may have slipped to sixth but we are still in an excellent league position

In this unpredictable league teams above us failed to win on Saturday. We should be aiming for victory on Boxing Day

Whatever happens after the dreadful end to last season how many City fans would have foreseen the progress we've made this season

So MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY NEW YEAR

To City fans everywhere

Keep up to date
