Coventry City's early exit from Carling Cup
THREE points from the opening game of the season and a brace from Freddie Eastwood, so a good start to the new campaign.
Then forward a few days to the Carling Cup at Morecambe and the Sky Blues turn in a very poor performance, a case of here we go again ?
But I guess that's what can happen when the manager experiments with his squad and making ten changes from the Pompey match.
A lot of managers see the Carling Cup as more of an inconvenience than something worth going for, so Aidy Boothroyd may be one of those.
But listening to the match on the radio I bet he wasn't best pleased with most of his players performances especially in the second half which came over as a complete shambles.
Thankfully this game has come at the start of the campaign so plenty of time to eradicate it from our minds, but then again another similar performance on Saturday at Watford and alarm bells could start ringing.
But it's a new start at Coventry City Football Club which means I'm going to stay positive and keep my faith in the new manager, because it's very early days.
But I bet I wasn't the only one listening to the game at Morecambe or who was at the match who thought to themselves, I hope this is just a one off and not going to be a regular occurence again ?
No, I've got to get any negative thoughts out of my mind, this is going to be a good season and we'll have a full strength team playing at Watford and they'll get three points, because it's the Championship Aidy's concerned about nothing else.
See that's what happens when you follow the Sky Blues, your head can be all over the place !
