The positiveness of Coventry City's new manager

NOT long to go now till the new season starts again and I'm really looking forward to it, then again I say that every season, a fresh start with the slate wiped clean full of optimism and high expectations.

Every team in the Championship and their fans will be feeling the same and if they aren't then something must be wrong.

Aidy Boothroyd has done a lot of positive talking since taking over as manager, he's one of the most upbeat talkers I've heard in football for a very long time.

But he's experienced enough to know that talk doesn't mean a thing if it's not backed up with actions, so it will be interesting to see if it isn't just hot air, the proof of the pudding so to speak.

But positiveness is infectious or should be so it's down to his new squad of players to carry it out onto the pitch and turn in some good performances, and hopefully they will.

Boothroyd has brought in some new players with a few more promised to follow soon, and it looks like the players have taken to their new boss.

Clinton Morrison had a departing dig at Boothroyd on his way to Sheffield Wednesday, saying he didn't think he could have worked with him, I bet the feeling is mutual ?

Still a lot of players leaving a club have digs at the club they've just left, it seems to be the norm these days.

But all us Sky Blue fans are more concerned with the present starting with the friendly on Saturday against the Albion, a game being dedicated to Jimmy Hill.

Jimmy Hill is a true legend to all us older fans of Coventry City, and if Aidy Boothroyd got the City back into the Premiership then in a smaller way he too can become one to all the fans who follow the Sky Blues today !

I agree with you John, Aidy Boothroyd has certainly stamped his mark on his new club so far with his upbeat talk etc, he comes across as someone who studies psychology in his spare time! My favourite manager is Holloway of Blackpool,he just brightens the game up with his comments and outlook on everything, but we may now have someone just like him in Aidy Boothroyd.
But at the end of the day if we had a manager who was as dull as a wet monday in November, would it matter if we were a winning team ?
