The return of Chris Coleman and other World Cup observations

IM hooked on Aidy Boothroyd's daily comments in the Telegraph just lately. But once I've read them like every other football fan I've got World Cup fever big time

Three matches a day is one exciting prospect for the football fanatic. Like Kevin Halls I've agonised through the England game

I've also marvelled at the efficiency of our german rivals.Watching the Italian's coming back against Paraguay made for great TV. Argentina dominated Nigeria but couldn't find the net more than the once

And last night watching Brazil I heard a familiar Welsh accent

Yes Chris Coleman had turned into a TV commentator. It seemed strange to see him for some reason, but I suppose it's nice to see the old guy has managed to find alternative employment.

Three years spent in the bottom half of the Championship doesn't seem much of a qualification for commenting on International football but I suppose ITV have lesser experts on the payroll

As he called for the Brazilian full backs to get further forward my mind drifted back to the times the City full backs failed to cross the halfway line last season

Not surprisingly he praised North Korea defensive display at the same time . I look forward to his future comments

A number of ex Coventry City managers have done duty as TV pundits. Hopefully Aidy will be too busy for the TV studios in the near future

As the French defeated the Irish Republic in qualifying unlike previous World Cup's there are no City players out there. But although I save my real fanaticism for when the players are in Sky Blue, I'll be supporting England to the hilt

If there are any City fans out there however I do hope for one thing. Could they all please resist the temptation to bring back any vuvuzelas and take them into the Ricoh

I was surprised to see Chris Coleman in Africa, but he's turning out to be a better co-commentator than a manager I reckon! But I guess it's an easier job commentating than managing a team ?
As for the vuvuzela's, I've got used to them now,but will the sound of these trumpets be heard and seen at our grounds next season? I can't see it happening myself, people moan at our drummer at the Ricoh, and fans moaned too when rattles were all the rage !
