6 reasons to be excited about City
Optimism is spreading through Coventry like the epidemic swine flu could have been if it had tried harder. The weekend can't come around quick enough for me, and all this talk of tickets selling like hot-cakes is arousing further still. But if you're still oblivious to the swell of Sky Blue pride, then here's why the rest of us have smiles on our faces...
1. Carl Baker
Shall I compare thee to Tommy Hutchinson? Or Paolo Wanchope? Forget comparisons, you need to see this kid for yourself. Anyone who thought that defender-skinning zany runs left the Ricoh with Michael Mifsud should think again. Next time you're in the ticket office ask for a reduction on your seat price - if Baker's playing you'll only need the edge of it.
2. Singers' Corner
OK, so I stole the name from a CWR phone-in caller, but it's a felicitous title. I'm talking about that section in the Ricoh Arena underneath the scoreboard where some of the most ardent and loyal City fans sit and voice their thoughts Sky Blue Army-style. If you like a sing-song, and fancy trying your hand at drowning out the opposition noise, then join these folk who are turning the Ricoh into pseudo-symphony hall.
3. The New Clinton
City's loquacious striker has undergone a bit of a make-over in recent weeks. Gone are the tantrums, the arm-flailing, the moaning (well, almost). What we're seeing now is a focused, hard-working Clinton Morrison who is critical not just in an attacking sense, but his forechecking (to borrow an ice hockey term) is also a key part of our defence. His hold up and link up play against Scunthorpe was superb, and his energy appears to be channelled into just playing good football instead of the theatrics which, whilst entertaining, were probably not good for the team.
4. The Sky Blue Crew
Alright, they may not be Diversity, but the Crew still put on a great show. I know that as the pom-poms are pumping most onlookers only have half an eye on the performance as they're turned to their mates, pretending not to look. But look they should. The routines, although a touch provocative for girls of that age, are inventive, coordinated, and performed with gusto - worth sacrificing that half time pie for.
5. Keiren Westwood
It's becoming rapidly clear that we have a truly world-class player in our midst. I think it was Geoff Foster (of CWR) who pointed out that Westwood treats us to at least one spectacular save each and every match. It's true, and it's a real privilage to watch a player of that class. There's been a Steve Ogrizovic-sized hole (that's quite a big one) at this club ever since Oggy retired, and now we've found someone capable of filling those boots should his tenure between the posts endure.
6. Results
We all have our favourite Chris Coleman mantra. Mine is the one about getting his ducks all in a row, but another one of these is that 'we are in the results business'. Well, business is booming right now. Four wins in five games, and only one loss in seven: Coleman is delivering. Many times I've shown up this season only to see a team that hopes that it might win. Now I'm watching a team that thinks it's going to win, and that is why I'm excited about the next game, and why so many of us are.

This is a nice article and is indicative of the positivity at the club and in the SBA at the moment. Is it just me or is everyone else a little bit scared of being positive and getting a big fat load of egg on our faces? I'm trying to get over that, and every positive performance eases the knot in my stomach preventing me from smiling openly about it. What i'm looking to see is how we react to a bad result or two which we will inevitably have during the course of the run-in to the end of the season.
It really is a positive time to be a cov supporter... still think the crew ought to be wearing more clothes though...
PUSB!
Lets hope Coleman can deliver again tomorro!!!! PUSB
If you re interested in watching the Crew no need to gve up the half-time pie as they perform before the game not at half-time.
Half-time has the cost effctive (no-one has won more than ã50) Kick For Cash which until recently has been the most entertaining part of the match experience
Im so pleased that Block 15 (well formally Block 14) is finally getting recognised as the place where the Sky Blue Army stand, sing, bang drums and bring your horn. We have been here for years!
I get fed up of the Telegraph Stand getting portrayed as the Sky Blue Army stand!!!
Its just a shame that the Away fans are still so far away from us that its impossible to create any banter with them, we can't hear them and they can't hear us!
