Starting out on a long journey

CRITICS of the current regime myself included are often accused of a lack of patience. We were always told it would take time. Why dont we just trust the men in charge?

Speaking as someone who's grown old supporting Coventry City I'm used to long journey's to get to where we want to go. Im just concerned whether we are heading in the right direction

The last two windows seem to show SISU are prepared to fund a squad that's adequate for the manager's needs. But they seem reluctant to provide the sort of funds needed to make the squad properly competitive

If the two forwards Chris Coleman spoke about yesterday are brought to the club,we will at last have the minimum requirement of two players for every position. To have us competing for the top two something more is required

It may be these sort of resources will be provided as time goes on. The danger of this is as results get worse in this make do and mend philosophy,so will gates and financial losses

It's a vicious financial circle, but the truth is the best way SISU can realise there investment is doing what it takes to usher the club to the premiership

With the vast amounts the've spent on the clubs debts its not perhaps surprising they are careful with resources

If the current squad were performing to the maximum of thier ability it might help them point the way to a successful journey. Sadly though as Steve Harrison says the squad is good enough for top ten, the've failed to show it all season

Besides the 3-2 win over Sheffield United I dont believe we've put in a consistent ninety minutes at home this season. Away performances have been poor. Even the away win against bottom placed Plymouth was something of a steal

Its fine for Chris Coleman to quote how many points we are from the top ten. We have to achieve a consistent run of results to achieve that placing something we've rarely looked like doing

I agree with other contributors that Chris's decision to use containing tactics at home to Blackpool shows a negative trend in his managment..So im not sure whether we are being steered in the right direction

The next few weeks are crucial to seeing if we can finish the season in a respectable placing. The next two games are a challenge for Chris Coleman's motivational ability

At would be nice to leave the Forest game whatever the score knowing the team gave a wholehearted competitive performance. And to see something of the ability this squad has ,expressed on the pitch.

In my current financial situation I need something from the players in the remaining weeks of the season to encourage me to sign on for the next stage of the journey
