Let's get Coventry City to the promised land of the Premiership
By David Allen
THIS IS a passionate plea from a loyal Sky Blues supporter of over 40 years who has seen many ups and downs while watching his beloved team.
ÃÂ
I'm urging all football fans in Coventry and the local area to support their local big club in the very competitive Championship.
Why not come and try the 'Sky Blues experience' at the mighty Ricoh Arena?
ÃÂ
Let's get behind our team and try toÃÂ support them back to their rightful place in the Premier League.
It's very easy for football fans to support the big teams in the country like Man Utd, Liverpool, Chelsea, Tottenham and even Aston Villa, but why not give your full support to Coventry City?
ÃÂ
Coventry has a population of 300,000-plus and is one of the biggest cities in the country, but disappointingly the football club gets only average gates of ÃÂ 16,000-17,000. It would certainly be better for the club to get 20,000 at every home game to prosper better for the future.
ÃÂ
Ray Ranson, along with SISU, brought some stability to the football club on and off the football field over the past two years while manager Chris Coleman, with the backing of Ranson, has beenÃÂ trying to build a younger, better team with more quality players.
Clearly the Premiership is the football club's target, but they need you - the fans - to give them more and more support to help achieve this ambition as soon as ÃÂ possible.
ÃÂ
Coventry City in their target to get to get to the promised land of the Premiership needs the extra support from all football fans in Coventry and Warwickshire.
The remaining seven home games in the Championship this season are as follows:
ÃÂ
SATURDAY 27 FEBRUARY vs SCUNTHORPE UTD ÃÂ kick-off 3pm
SATURDAY 13 ÃÂ MARCH ÃÂ vs PLYMOUTH ÃÂ ARGYLE ÃÂ 3pm
TUESDAY ÃÂ 16 ÃÂ MARCH ÃÂ vs CARDIFF ÃÂ CITY 7.45pm
SATURDAY 27 ÃÂ MARCH vs SHEFFIELD ÃÂ WEDNESDAY ÃÂ 3pm
SATURDAY 3 ÃÂ APRIL vs DERBY COUNTY 3pm
SATURDAY 17 ÃÂ APRIL vs PRESTON NORTH END 3pm
SUNDAY 2 ÃÂ MAY vs WATFORD 1pm
ÃÂ
Just imagine that unique Sky Blues experiencd at the Ricoh watching those top quality players like Kieren Westwood, James McPake, Richard Wood, Martin ÃÂ Crainie, Gary Deegan, Aron Gunnarsson, Sammy Clingan, Carl ÃÂ Baker, Michael McIndoe, David Bell, Clinton Morrison, Freddy Eastwood, Freddy Sears and Jon Stead andÃÂ others.
ÃÂ
From my seat in block 20 of the Tesco stand I have a superb view of watching the super Sky Blues for just ã420 a season - great value for a season's football. Come and join me at the Ricoh and support our team.

Since when was Michael McIndoe a good player? ;)
Here, here, David.
I for one can't wait till Saturday.
It's been a while since I was genuinely excited about the prospect of watching City play, but that's how I'm feeling right now.
The Ricoh is a fortress. Coleman is a god. Our team is the shiz.
Bring on Scunthorpe!!!
I'll be making the 240 mile round trip to the game on Saturday to hopefully see us secure another valuable 3 points to contiune our climb towards the reachable heights of the play-offs. PUSB
That's raelly shrewd! Good to see the logic set out so well.
