In praise of City's away fans
Listening in to Bristol's dominance in the second half on Saturday it seemed sadly inevitable that we'd conceed a late goal. So it proved, but if I was cheesed off I thought about the Sky Blue fans in Bristol and wondered how they felt
In what's been a dire season away from home these people have had little return for thier considerable expense.
The've seen embarrasing performances at Blackpool and Scunthorpe. The've seen leads tossed away at Derby and Ipswich, ending up as losses. And there's been many occasions like Saturday when the've hoped for a result to take home and seen it snatched away at the
end
Of our away wins the Plymouth game was an absolute steal. Possibly the 3-2 win against Watford is our only quality performance away from home this season
Through all this the manager remains cheerfully optimistic. To say we coped easily with Bristol when we allowed them twenty one shots on goal is a bit of self delusion.
One of my earliest blogs commented on our complex about playing way from home. The negative formation played at Swansea showed the manager is out to bore the travelling fans into submission
With games at Leicester,Newcastle, and West Brom to come my heart goes out to our diehard away supporters. I hope they have some joy on travels to come
For myself im hoping for a result at home to Forest.. The gap between us and the relegation zone's getting smaller
