Grinding Out a Result...
Saturdays match was far from a classic... But City got a result one that before Christmas would almost certainly have ended in a defeat.
Pretty it wasn't and QPR had a lot of possession not to mention corners but other than one 'world class' save from Westwood, they never really threaten the City goal.
In defence Barnett slipped in seamlessly for McPake and didn't put a foot wrong. Wood, Cranie and Wright also put in solid performances.
In midfield again they worked hard, closing down harrying chasing but not really being able to create much.
Up front more of the same, hard work with little reward. Apart from the goal, we only had Eastwood's chance in the dying moments that could be counted as real opportunities.
Freddie Sears gave us another option up front with his pace and with a target man due in also, we look to have a very balanced squad now.
So we should look forward with confidence to the next couple of tricky away games. With two defeats in our last eleven league games, we are certainly becoming a tough team to beat, how long is it since that was the case...
