Trying to move forward
AFTER reading about Ian Palmer's heartbreak I suppose I could try offering some advice.Maybe I could point out that with wisdom and maturity you learn that there are tougher things in life than your football team losing
But spiritually Im with him. I wouldnt wax lyrical about my thoughts on the Wright own goal though. My main reaction was one of embarrasment .I hope that one doesnt get shown again and again
Im sure it must help having a lady friend who can take you upstairs to console you. Can I thank him for the tasteful way he refrained from giving us too much detail, Clearly he must find consolation any way he can
For me I just have to get the defeat out of my system and look to the next game. It's helped this year been able to write about my frustration, with this team Ive given so much of myself too.
It helps if the manager can put it into perspective for you. Sadly Chris seems to think there wasnt too much wrong.
Im not sure I agree we werent outplayed. I do think if its true we didnt take the game to Portsmouth because we were tired,it asks questions about our training. If we aspire to succeed we must be capable of playing twice a week easily
Chris chose not to use his third substitute to help these tired players. The Grandison move will go down in the club's history, and fans will puzzle for years
The fact that Jeffers a tall stiker wasnt used was odd. Or Cain played on right wing to move Eastwood up front.
But going over it is useless. Im pleased to hear Baker and Deegan who seem more postive than a lot of the players already here may be used today.
As Sid Wilson said in Thursday's Telegraph there's a lack of self belief in the squad. Let's show history means nothing and win at Ipswich
That will be the best way to get Ian through. May his performance be as good as the team's
And I'd suggest to him he takes the ladyfriend to the next home game. Then she'll really understand
