Please come back, Jack!
SO JACK CORK has followed Patrick van Aanholt and done a runner out the back door back to Chelsea. Well, I miss him already.
Jack brought a certain culture to our rather robust midfield. There's an air of prestige about him that only an upbringing at a top top club can bequeath. At times he stood out like an Armani suit in Primark, gliding through midfield, gracing the ball with his boot as an artist would apply brush to canvas.
It's a shame he never got on the scoresheet during his loan spell or his parting might have prompted more fuss from City fans. I'll always remember the game against West Brom when he went from box to box like Noel Edmonds on Deal or No Deal (only without all the saccharine sentiment). It was a Mountie-like performance that showed there was a tough side to his game as well as the finesse.
Chris Coleman says he wants to bring him back for another loan spell. I hope this is more than just lip-service. Jack's talents extend beyond the football pitch: he's an attractive man, and his mere presence brings more ladies through the turnstiles, which I am all in favour of.
