It's only Blackpool
CITY managed a draw with Blackpool today despite the latest example of Chris Coleman's negative safety first managment tactics
To devise a system to stop Blackpool playing surprised me. In fact we were saying to the players we have to stop Blackpool playing because THEY ARE BETTER THAN US
This isn't the right signal to give to the players, and in some ways its not surprising they so often play with a lack of self belief
After a first half as tedious as the Swansea game sounded we managed to bore both the fans and Blackpool into a scoreless forty five minutes.
Then for not the first time this season,a half time team talk from Chris Coleman had a pronounced effect. WE PLAYED EVEN WORSE
It was unsurprising when we conceeded after waves of Blackpool pressure. I like a lot of the crowd I sensed was almost resigned to defeat
However a late comeback salvaged a point. This came about when we reverted to two forwards, and played the formation that the manager discounted from the start
So why did we start in such a negative fashion. We were obviously helped by the sending off but if we'd played ninety minutes, like we did the last ten it would have been different
Our goal was set up by Carl Baker who by some way was the most positive City player on the pitch. In contrast Michael Mcindoe produced another poor performance
We have a number of difficult fixtures to come before the end of the season. As Steve Harrison said with the squad weve got we're capable of finishing in the top ten.But we are constantly under performing .
The danger is we could slip into trouble. There's no need to have a complex about playing Blackpool. We need to go out and show our abilities and let other teams worry about playing us.

oh dear mate, be a bit positive, we didn't lose! chris coleman obviously knows what he's doing and as he's been saying for the past 2 years, its not going to happen over night.
