Happy New Year.......

The wins in December came from hard work and desire but confidence has also come back since the Boxing Day win.

Like many, I have however been frustrated by the stupid errors, a misfiring midfield and a lack of firepower up front.
Coleman knows this is costing us points and I am pleased to see that although we cannot shop at Harrods we have at least had our credit card out thus saving us purchase wise, from the tedium of constantly checking Sky on the last day of the window for a random signing.

If players like Deegan and Baker can step up and emulate City heroes of old signed from lower leagues,such as Wallace and Peake to name just two, then our squad will be all the better for it and so will the second half of our season.

In fact it already is:
McPake, bolstered no doubt ,by all the medication bought with his sick pay has looked sheer class compared to his Captain and the return of Clingan and to the form he showed early season will surely yield a few goals.

Let us also not discount our newly found wingplay and whilst Benno and Hutch hold onto their halos Mcindoe and Bell give natural width and that gives service to the front men and - I will say it quietly - the prospect of some entertainment on the pitch.

Add in the alchemy of the Academy glory hunters and players, as mentioned, who have been blooded in lower Leaues and hopefully we may be on to something.

I have however left out the but so here it is ...
BUT we have to sign another striker - no make that and goalscorer - and the transfer activity in that department over the next few weeks may be the difference between a top half finish or not.
