Abysmal
SCUNTHORPE. Their manager openly admits their main objective for this season is to try and stay in the league.
Coventry. Aspirations of a play-off place and a return to where many would argue is our rightful place, the top flight.
Reality score check. Scunthorpe 1 - 0 Coventry.
The reality of Coventry's plight was there for all to see yesterday, not just for the suffering traveling support who have had little consolation since Watford, but for the TV audience as well.
I would venture if they made that game compulsory viewing for naughty school kids, behaviour would improve no end. It was abysmal.
We weren't unlucky, we were in control of our own destiny yesterday. The difference was they wanted it and we seemed apathetic. We have done for weeks, whether it's because of injuries, lack of depth in a squad or is it lack of inspiration from the management.
Chris Coleman called his players selfish and held them back for an autopsy after the game but to what end? Many are now questioning the tenure of Mr Coleman but what is apparent, Scunthorpe's players wanted to win, our Sky Blue boys seem to lack the proper motivation.
Is there a plan for the coming games? Well perhaps the reality check that is the relegation zone may prompt action. With the Toon Army followed by The Posh this is a big week for the club.
Nil points from these game I would venture may leave some looking soberly in to the abyss.
