Still feeling the Derby County blues
LIKE the last banter contributor I'd like to feel optimistic about Coventry City's prospects. I also agree with him that sacking another manager would achieve nothing
But Chris does worry me sometimes. He still seems to suggest that we were the better team in the first half at Derby.Unlike my fellow blogger I watched the game on TV. But surely he'd agree that after scoring in the 4th minute we were overrun for the rest of the half
As I wrote before I believe the Barnett/Ward partnership did fairly well. The goals eventually came around because the defence was under endless pressure throughout the game
Barnett is certainly a tough Centre Half in the James McPake mould. Paul Dickov must have been left with the bruises.
Again as I've said before Chris has to work out his best central defensive partnership and move on those surplus to requirements.I still also believe he's the man to take the club forward, but the question is do the players
He declared that the Derby game was a 'must win' and only one team looked like winning.
Now he calls the Palace game a 'Cup Final'. It's to be hoped that this time the players respond to his appeal for urgency
I hope the return of some of the players on the injury list produce improved results. It's worth remembering though some of them will have featured in earlier poor performances such as the thrashing at Blackpool
