What's your best ever Sky Blues eleven?
ITS A question that keeps coming up, and that is: Who would be in your best ever Coventry City eleven? A team of Sky Blue players made up from any era.
As I've been watching the City from the Jimmy Hill era, to the present day, I've a lot to choose from, but I've finally picked my eleven, not because they are my favourites, although a few are, but because It would be good enough to compete at a high level,when these players were at their best.
Goalie: Bill Glazier
Back Four:Danny Thomas
Gary Gillespie
George Curtis
Stuart Pearce.
Midfield: Dennis Mortimer
Terry Yorath
Ian Gibson
Forwards: Willy Humphries
George Hudson
Tommy Hutchison.
Younger fans would obviously choose players from more recent seasons, but try as hard as I could, I couldn't see any players from the modern era, I'd select in place of the above, with the exception of say, Robbie Keane, and Dion Dublin.
