Was it a great result ?
LAST SATURDAY'S draw with West Brom has been praised by everybody at Coventry City.
Certainly we managed a clean sheet and without the keeper who has saved us so often in the last few seasons. And it was against a top side
But I left the Ricoh far from elated. We never stretched the Albion keeper to a decent save throughout the game.Chris Coleman made little comment on that, because clearly the main aim was to get a draw
I recall when we were a Premiership club who were never intimidated about playing the Albion at home. I remember last season's home wins against Birmingham and Wolves when we took on those two sides and beat them at thier own free flowing game
It's sad to see the clubs lack of ambition at home. I know we had injuries but I still felt we could have approached the game more positively.
I agree with the manager that all of the players tried hard on Saturday. But the effort was too often to contain rather than create.Freddie Eastwood however continues to suffer and be frustrated because of it. I still fail to see the logic in not having a reserve team he could regain his confidence by playing in
We followed two away defeats with an home draw and the one point in nine means we are now that bit more distant from the top of the play off zone.Sixth place is still within reach but we must be positive to bridge the points gap in the weeks to come
We play Reading who are suffering at the wrong end of the table on Saturday and surely our aim should be to achieve a victory. We need a run of results to keep us in touch with the top half of the table
