Manchester United, Liverpool and Coventry City....all selling clubs
WITH the definition of a selling club being one that sells its best players, then Coventry City are in good company. Both Manchester United and Liverpool sold arguably their best players over the summer while city sold two of their best Scott Dann and Danny Fox.
With most clubs crying out for a creative midfielder and a 20 goal plus a season striker. Liverpool and Manchester United sold two of the best in the game in Xabi Alonso and Christiano Ronaldo respectively.
Ronaldo was Manchester top goal scorer for the past two years and world player of the year in 2008 and yet he was still sold. You can't tell me that Alex Ferguson was happy about that one. Manchester Uniteds performances this season would bear testament to how much they are missing him.
By my reckoning, there are probably on four clubs in the world that aren't selling clubs currently. Chelsea and Manchester City, both owned by Billionaires and Barcelona and Real Madrid. Every other club in the world is in the same boat as city.
So City fans, selling your best players is a way of life unless your one of the lucky four teams.
