Here We Go Again
IN Football the gap between success and failure can be very small. After the last two games Coventry City have yet again come out on the negative side
A draw and a win which City should have been capable of would have kept them in touch with the upper half of the table. Two defeats have sent them dropping down it
Of course we now face West Brom on Saturday and a poor performance could produce a prolonged dip in our fortunes.
I read an interview with Michael Mcindoe in the Telegraph prior to the Cardiff game. His positive comments that there should not be any really difficult matches for the club in this league where a breath of fresh air.
He spoke of a recognition of the clubs lack of a success and a determination to put it right
Well what happened to that at Cardiff. Chris Coleman noted that heads went down the minute they conceded the first goal. There were eighty six minutes to get it back.
Contrast that with the spirit shown to beat Watford away only a few weeks ago. This is what enrages fans so much
Ray Ranson calls on the fans for support, but we must see more consistency from the players to merit that support
It would be easy to question Chris Coleman's position. But to me in his post match comments he seems to grasp the issues.
In defence players are not applying concentration from the first whistle. In midfield the
build up is so slow and laboured as players dont seem to have the confidence to move the ball at pace and create chances.Up front suddenly there's a lack of conviction in our play.
None of this seemed evident in the home win over Sheffield Utd of the win at Watford.Chris must be baffled at what to do to produce a consistent approach by the players
Natalie Cox in yesterdays Telegraph wrote that she'll travel to the West Brom game in a positive frame of mind. Well there's little point in doing anything else. With this Coventry team you never know what you are going to get
