An intriguing rivalry
THE LEICESTER-COVENTRY rivalry is a strange one.
Separated by less than 30 miles (and with no regular claret and blue battles foreseeable in the near future), our East Midlands neighbours can proudly boast to be our number one modern Sky Blue enemy.

With the risk of sounding blasphemous, how much of our hostility is based on jealousy rather than classic enmity? Leicester get larger gates. Fact. I won't try and explain the details between support and/or town sizes etc because there's a brilliant article in Twist n' Shout that deals with the same subject.
So my first point? Buy Twist n' Shout so I don't have to explain it.
Lethargic journalism aside, I actually live in Leicester so I can view the rivalry from across the divide. I could fill an entire blog with insults (some begrudgingly amusing) from various people/morons regarding my choice of football team but what would that prove?
Perhaps Leicester are jealous of us (FA Cup, accent, batches etc).
When Leicester visit the Ricoh on Saturday football and hostility will collide in a concoction of passion, hatred, excitement and bowel-shattering worry.
It's our biggest game of the season so far. My only hope is that I'm the one handing out moronic insults in the office on Monday.

Seems we try hard to find an enemy- Villa v blues [neither really see us as a true threat]Foxes V Derby; Derby V Forest; Baggies V wolves shame really, we do not even raise local hostility with neighbours, still tomorrow will have an edge albeit artificially generated.
