Do not panic
TODAY, Chris Coleman told Coventry City fans not to panic after Saturday's result against Swansea.
And to be fair, the sane amongst us will do as we're told. However, as with all football clubs, a fair amount lunatics lie amongst our ranks.
In my eyes, one such lunatic is the man who took it upon himself to pen a letter to Chris Coleman this week.
The letter, details of which are mentioned by Coleman in this article, stated that the Swansea match showcased the worst football the author had ever seen (he obviously wasn't around for our 0-5 thumping at the hands of the Baggies two seasons back). He went on to say that he shan't be returning to the Ricoh. I'm sure he will be sorely missed...
How anyone can adopt panic stations after four games is beyond me. Had we suffered four losses, mild agitation would be justified, however the fact that we've collected 7 points from four tough fixtures warrants at least a cautious smile.
All too often you hear people saying that seeing as they've stumped up the cash for a season ticket, the least they deserve is to see City win the league, and perhaps reach a couple of cup finals on the way. All that's required here is a sense of realism.
Ludicrous expectations have and will damage the club. A little bit of patience will pay dividends, so let's see where we are after ten games before making any rash decisions.
