Kevin Kyle more than just a targetman, says Danny Wilson
DANNY WILSON today told Hartlepool United fans that Coventry City outcast Kevin Kyle is far more than just a big targetman.
Wilson is adamant that Kyle's short-term signing will not alter the short passing game that Pools play at the moment.
And he's convinced that the Scottish international striker has the ability to fit into the team's style with no problems at all.
Wilson told the Hartlepool Mail: "We can't change the way we play and we don't want to change it.
"I think it's a bit of fallacy to suggest that Kevin can only do one particular thing.
"He is quite an articulate footballer to be fair to him.
"He has got a decent touch, he can bring people into the game.
"You don't have to belt the ball at him just because he is a big unit.
"We don't want to lose all the good points we have got simply because we have added one player to the squad.
"He doesn't want that either. He doesn't want to be perceived as a one-trick pony."
Kyle signed a month-long loan deal with Hartlepool last week but says he wants to stay at the club until Christmas.
The 27-year-old has had a difficult spell at Coventry City, spending the second half of last season on loan at Wolves before returning to the Ricoh for pre-season in July.
