LEON McKENZIE says Coventry City will benefit from the international break.

The Sky Blues saw an unbeaten start to the season end with straight defeats, culminating in a 1-0 away loss at Doncaster Rovers.

But McKenzie says the break for the international games have given Chris Coleman's squad the chance it needs to regroup.

He told the club's official site: "It's good to get some days off from the league and we've had a steady start even though we've lost the last couple of games but you're always looking forward to when you get back to preparing and I'm looking forward to preparing for Preston.

"Even though it's the break we're still training hard and getting everything done properly and I'm sure the gaffer has no intention of stopping with his preparation because we all want to make sure things are right."

McKenzie says the team know where they'd like to finish - but are simply taking it one game at a time.

He added: "We've got an idea of where we'd like to finish in the table but with this league you just have to take each game as it comes.

"We've got a good squad in place so all we can do is keep doing the right things and improve every game."
