Boo-hoo, Leon
SO Leon Best was unhappy to hear a few City fans booing him after the game on Saturday. Well, I'm sorry Leon, but I think it's something you'll have to get used to.
Fans boo you for the same reason they cheer you - they want to feel part of the game! Fans want to indulge, engross, and immerse themselves in all that goes on in front of them. It's nothing personal, Leon. It's just that we can't help ourselves sometimes.
Let me say, though, that I don't think Best's performance on Saturday deserved a booing. I mean come on, the guy's playing his first competitive game since May. Think about it: he isn't going to be as sharp as he will be in a game or two's time.
But nor did I hear any booing either, which means it's only a minority, and not really worth Leon getting all huffed up about.
Besides, he should be thankful - it wasn't all that long ago that he told us all he didn't want to play for us any more. Other players have had a lot worse treatment after a statement like that.
I didn't boo Leon on Saturday. Now I might change my mind...

Anyone who boos their own side is an idiot. Don't you want to win?
Why should Leon expect his own fans to boo him? It's not part of the job at all, it's a small minority of idiots who obviously know nothing about the game and should just stay home for everyone's good.
Best didn't play as he can on Saturday, but it was his first game back after a long injury. Eastwood also didn't play his best first game of the season, but was probably the best player on the park on Saturday.
If I was a player I'd leave City because of the fans. They don't deserve to have a team. It angers me because the players think that a majority feel this way when it's just one or two imbeciles who seem to think they've wandered into a panto.
I'm a supporter, and I want the best for every player on the park. Frankly, if you don't think the same, go find another hobby for Saturday afternoons.
Spot on Iain (poster), couldn't have put it better myself. It angers me to think that these idiots are actually upsetting our players. Leon Best is a very talented young player who we need to keep hold of and stuff like this doesn't help him or our teams morale.
I'm looking forward to seeing a fit Leon Best and Freddie Eastwood play up front together. They are Coleman's intended strike force and when they are both fit I think we'll have a good strike partnership.
